The 56,000m² development delivered 995 apartments across four towers rising to 23 storeys. Its scale provides proven evidence of what a manufacture-led approach can achieve and helped inform the continued evolution of the systemised approach that underpins hyTower today.

Designed for manufacture. Ready to assemble.

More than 8,000 structural elements and 1,450 bathroom pods were manufactured offsite, with structure, façade, balconies and pods coordinated as part of an integrated delivery strategy.

Precast crosswalls, architectural sandwich panels and pre-glazed balcony units increased the amount of work completed in controlled manufacturing environments before components reached site - reducing traditional site activity and creating a more consistent and predictable assembly process.

Chapel Wharf demonstrated how systemised construction could deliver substantial residential scale with a leaner site operation. Components from five manufacturing locations were coordinated on a just-in-time basis to feed four tower cranes operating simultaneously, while a site team of just 38 people supported delivery across the development.
 

The principles proven at Chapel Wharf - integrated design, large-scale offsite manufacture, repeatable components, coordinated logistics and controlled assembly - have helped shape the continued evolution of hyTower, with the system now being deployed through hyTower London across high-rise residential projects in the capital.
